I have been extremely impressed with the Primark beauty range. I only own two products, the lip pencil in Brown, as seen in my Everyday Lip blog post and the Velvet Matte Lipstick Crayon in Nude, but they have blown me away.

As you’d expect with Primark the range is extremely cheap and surprising on par if not better than some high-street products! I recently reviewed the Soap&Glory Lip Crayons – full swatches and review here – and actually prefer the Velvet Matte Lipstick Crayon from the Primark beauty range which is just £2.

The Primark crayon is extremely creamy when applying to the lip and doesn’t cling to any dry patches and the size of the crayon gives you plenty of control to shape the lips with precision. It has a gorgeous pinky nude tone in a velvet matte finish (just like the name would suggest), which isn’t too drying and the product continues to be comfortable to wear throughout the day. The longevity of the product is amazing as well. I’ve found that whilst at work I have only needed to reapply after eating and when it does wear off it doesn’t become patchy or leave the embarrassing thick lip line look. The smell, wow wow wow, the smell is a pleasant sweet vanilla scent very reminiscent of signature MAC lipsticks. If a blind test was done I don’t think anyone would guess or even believe where the lip crayon was from.

When I was in store I think there was around 5-6 colours in this lip crayon range, from nudes to corals to bright pinks, there was even a brown – very high fashion. Next time I am in a Primark store I can reassure you I will be picking up more of them, so let me know if you would like swatches of those in another blog post. Due to the success from both this crayon and the lipliner, I think I may even try some different products from the range such as the eyeshadows, highlighters and blushes. I don’t personally think I would try the foundations as I’m very loyal to my MAC Studio Face&Body – seen in my Everyday Makeup Look – but we’ll see what reviews they do have, as I am always up for trying products with great write ups.
