MAC Woodwinked Eyeshadow – Swatches & Review

MAC’s Woodwinked is a velvet pearl finish eyeshadow (£13) described as a ‘warm antique gold‘ which is exactly what it is. It’s a mix between gold and bronze with a warm brown base and gorgeous gold shimmers. The blendability of this shadow is second to none and it’s great to wear paired with other shadows to create a warm smokey brown eye.

My personal favourite way to wear it is blended all over the lid alone to create a simple neutral shimmer eye look. The reason for this is that when blended alone the tones of the eyeshadow start to shift. It looks as though you have numerous shades in the crease, making it look like you’ve put more effort in that you have and I will never argue with an effortless way to look more polished.

Out of the 5 MAC shadows which I own I would say this is my favourite, with Sable being a very close second. It’s just an amazing multi-look shadow which can be used to create both simple and dramatic looks, meaning it’s great for travel. The best of all worlds and there’s no kind of eyeshadow which is better than that.
MAC eyeshadows are possibly the creamiest, most pigmented and long-lasting I’ve ever owned to note. I’m forever eyeing up swatches from other bloggers to see which shadow I’m going to add to my collection next. I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve ever read a negative review about them so it’s no wonder MAC are the masters of eyeshadows.

What are your favourite shades from the MAC eyeshadow range? I would LOVE to know!

  1. Like you I love Soba and both of those go really well with All-That-Glitters.

But, what I will say is, if you haven’t already, try the new Zoeva Nude Spectrum Palette. It really is amazing and has so many dupes for Naked, Mac and Lorac Palettes. It’s a makeup must! Honestly – I promise you won’t regret it
