Public Apology to Ruth Crilly: CoLab Dry Shampoo – I just don’t like it

So as much as I hate to admit it, as my love for Ruth Crilly is very real, I cannot get on board with this dry shampoo. Am I the only one?

In my previous post Dry Shampoo 101 – Which is best?, I mentioned that I had just purchased this is the scent Rio and was excited to start using it due to the amazing reviews I had heard on the product from bloggers and YouTubers alike.

It’s been about 3 weeks now, and it does absolutely nothing for me. Granted it makes my hair smell nice, like literally amazing. But it doesn’t get rid of any of the greasiness. Yes it’s invisible, there’s no residue or powdery feeling in the hair – no matter how much I put on -, but it’s as if there’s not even anything there to get rid or aborb any excess oil from my hair.

I’ve tried it many different ways, as the instructions say – which is to spray it where you need it before brushing it through, as well as spraying it in and leaving it to aborb anything for upto 30 minutes whilst I do my whole face of make up before just loosely brushing through with my fingers. Even this leaves me in the same oily haired situation.

Today was the final straw for me, I put it in before my make up, then brushed it through when it came to doing my hair and styled it as I would normally do. I saw myself in the car mirror and saw the front of my hair was doing that thing where it bunches together in greasy sections and it just generally feels like it needs a good wash. I’m on day 3 hair and usually I can leave it about 4-5 days before I need to wash my hair using other dry shampoos.

I immediately went into town and picked up my favourite dry shampoo from Urban Fudge (£5.24, Boots). I’m sorry Ruth but it just hasn’t worked for me and I have really tried, I promise.

Have any of you had a similar experience or is it really just me?

    1. Batiste is one of the best. Urban fudge is my ultimate dry shampoo though however you do have to pay a slightly higher price. Suppose it’s one of those you get what you pay for products. Xxx
