As fall approaches we all start to reach for the reds and the purples there’s no denying it. And here are the top 3 which I reach for as autumn calls.
Rimmel Lasting Finish By Kate in 107 Wine (£6.99, Superdrug)
This colour SCREAMS autumn it’s rich deep matte red which goes perfect for a daytime look or full blown glam.
As it’s matte it does mean it is a longer-lasting lipstick but it similarly comes off extremely easily throughout the day (I’ve got it on a white T shirt or two before now, grr). Either way it is a creamy matte that doesn’t leave the lips feeling overly dry and has great pigment which can be built up to a fully opaque colour.
The only downside, which is reminiscent of many Rimmel lipsticks is the scent, but once it’s on your lips there’s no big drams about it. It’s truly gorgeous and if you’ve never tried it I suggest you do!
L’oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in Plum Passion (£6.99, Amazon)
This lipstick I actually picked up from T.J.Hughes a couple of years back and it’s one I always come back to during the colder months. From the bullet, it looks horrifying, it’s dark purple with many different glittery specks running through it and the thought of a dark frosty lipstick isn’t the most appetising. However when you put it on the lips the flecks of shimmer actually make the deep colour a lot more wearable, and as you can see from the swatches it looks really quite natural.
It does need a little bit of work when applying, probably down to the shimmer running through making it not quite smooth sailing, but either way the colour is too stunning to pass up on.
If you’re after a wearable purple lipstick, and cheap, I recommend this one completely!
YSL Glossy Stain in Red Flash 09 (£26, Boots)
Now if you fancy splashing out and getting the most photogenic and showstopping lip, BUY THIS NOW.
Oh my god, this glossy stain gives me life!
The consistency of these if you’ve never tried them is a like a lightweight extremely pigmented gloss which isn’t overly sticky but has enough stick so the colour stays on your lips. If you do wear it all day long once the gloss wears off you are also left with a stain on the lip, through eating, drinking, the stain will be there.
I adore these glossy stains, especially as someone who is NOT a lipgloss girl at all. And just look at these photographs, it is truly captivating and paired with a simply matte make up look this is the only glossy red you would ever need.
What’s your favourite fall lip colour? I’d love to know!
