I’m Late to the Lip Lingerie Party – Kylie Lip Kit Dupe?

Yep, you heard it right. I haven’t tried a Lip Lingerie at all, until this moment (well this moment being within the past couple of weeks) and I’m not going to lie, I’m annoyed at myself for leaving it so long.

Everyone raved about these when they first got released and I don’t know what or why it was, but I completely ignored the hype, continuing to try what seems like every other liquid lip, bar these. In my defense, first they weren’t readily available in the UK, but since coming to ASOS and Boots, I really don’t have a good enough excuse. Now that apologies are out of the way, let’s talk about it!

After popping into my local boots, I saw they finally had a NYX stand. A massive swatchathon soon commenced with pretty much every colour of every product they had available. I ended up being pretty darn good and only picked up one lip product (yes one!), the Lip Lingerie in Lace Detail (Β£6.50, Boots). The reason this one struck me the most was due to the fact it looked a similar colour to Kylie’s Candy K, a liquid lipstick I’ve always wanted but don’t wish to pay shipping for.

The look of the tubes themselves are also very Kylie-esque with their clear against black writing, whether that’s intentional I don’t know. The colour vibes aswell are very Kylie as they’re all neutral based with hints of brown or pink.

The liquid lipstick itself I find to be pretty pigmented. In comparison to some of my others, for example a Jeffree Star one, it’s not quite as pigmented but the product itself is very lightweight meaning it’s fine to layer it once the first has dried. The colour, as touched upon is gorgeous. It’s a neutral light pink and throws out many Candy K vibes. It dries within seconds and much like most liquid lips it does feel slightly drying on the lips. However, it’s not drying enough to make it uncomfortable.

In terms of wear time I find it wears pretty well. If you do eat or drink,  it doesn’t last as long as some other liquid lipsticks which I have, however for the price it’s not an issue to me. With it being a more neutral colour as well, when it does wear off, it does so in a way which makes it undetectable. There’s none of that icky residue around the outsides of your lip – you know where I’m coming from.

Overall I think these are a great product and I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to finally get my hands on one. I’m in no rush, but I would buy other colours from the range if it was something I really liked the look of.

Do you have any of the Lip Lingeries? If so, do any of the other colours compare to the Kylie Lip Kits?
