There’s nothing more suitable for any occasion than a classic smokey eye. Using one palette, the Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye Contour palette, I show you how to create this perfect look. The techniques used in this tutorial can also be used to create a warm smokey eye, a colourful smokey eye, basically whatever you desire. Enjoy!

Eyes
Note: when doing a smokey eye, I always start with eyes in case of any fallout.
I start by priming my eyes using MAC Soft Ochre paint pot (£16, MAC Cosmetics) blending it from brown bone to lash line with my fingers.

Then taking Lazarus from the Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye Contour palette (£36, Debenhams) on the Zoeva Luxe Soft Definer brush*, I blended this primarily into the crease and slowly worked up to the brow bone.
I then took the shade Laetus on the same brush and sweeped this over the brow bone to brighten up under the brow.
I then took the Zoeva Smoky Shader brush* and took the shade Samuel onto the outer third of the eye and also along the crease, blending in the placement of the colour with the Zoeva Soft Definer.
To deepen this further, I took the shade Saleos in the same placement on the same brushes.

Then taking the shade Shax on the Real Techniques Detailer brush –from the Core Collection (£21.99, Boots), I created a deepness along my lash line and outer corner before blending everything together using the Zoeva Soft Definer. This is where you can create whatever shape you desire be it rounded, a cat eye or an extreme winged out look.
Once you’ve added this black shade, you can then touch up any colours you’ve used previously to create the depth you desire.

On the lower lash line I took the shade Saleos on the Zoeva Smoky Shader brush, connecting it with the upper eye. I then blending this out, you’ve guessed it, using the Zoeva Soft Definer.

Finally I used the Zoeva Graphic Eyes Rock n Roll Eyeliner (£7, Beauty Bay) in both my upper and lower waterline to complete the smokey look.

Mascara used is L’Oreal Miss Hippie Waterproof in Black (£7.99, Boots)

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in Medium Brown (£15, Beauty Bay)

Base
First taking my L.A. Girl Pro Conceal in Natural (£5, Beauty Bay) and applying this all across my nose and under my eyes and blending with my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge (£5.99, Boots)

Then taking my Milani 2in1 Perfect and Conceal foundation in Warm Beige (£11, Beauty Bay) and applying this with the same sponge, all over the face.

Then taking L.A. Girl Pro Powder in Classic Ivory (£6, Beauty Bay) and setting the under eyes and high points of the face using the Real Techniques Contour Brush from the Core Collection – See eyes section for link.
Then taking the same L.A. Girl Pro Powder but in the shade Toffee (£6, Beauty Bay) on a large duo-fibre brush (sorry, no idea where it’s from) around the perimeters of the face to create shadow.

Face
Taking MAC’s Mineralise Skin Finish in Give Me Sun (£24, MAC Cosmetics) on the Model’s Own Blush brush from the 5 piece set (£9.99, Boots) and applying to bronze up the skin.
Then taking Make Up Geek’s Blush in Honeymoon ($12.99, Makeup Geek) on a Real Techniques Blush brush (£9.99, Boots) on the highpoints on the cheeks.
Finally for the face, taking The Balms Mary-Lou Loumanizer (£17.49, Superdrug) on the Morphe Fan Brush from the 12 piece set (£12.50, Beauty Bay). Apply this to your hearts content – also taking the Zoeva Petit Crease Brush* to add this for an inner eye highlight.

Setting
Spray lovingly Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day in Jasmine (£14.50, Beauty Bay)

Lips
NYX Lip Lingerie in Lace Detail (£6.50, Boots)
