NYX HD Concealer review

I’ve been loyal to L.A. Girl Pro concealer for quite some time now. It’s cheap and it’s bloody good but when I went to repurchase it last month my colour was out and I didn’t have time to wait till my shade was restocked. So I turned to another cheap and cheerful cruelty free brand, NYX.

I love that NYX is available on ASOS as I didn’t have time to go to Boots and as I have ASOS premium, which if you don’t have it I highly recommend you do, I knew I’d get my concealer the next day.

Buying online is always hard. I had no idea what shade to get but I knew it would be one of the lightest. So after scrolling through numerous swatches on google I went for the shade Glow (£6, ASOS).

I’m not big on concealing blemishes or spots, I use my concealer mainly to highlight areas of my face along with adding extra coverage under my eyes so the name Glow definitely appealed to me.

When first trying this concealer, the first thing I noticed was that it’s not as thick as I expected it to be. I thought this was a downside, but actually as it’s so thin it’s not heavy on the skin and it’s easily built up if you need more coverage. Don’t get me wrong though, as you can see from the swatches, it’s still highly pigmented!

Another great thing about this concealer is that it doesn’t crease under the eyes. I always set my concealer with powder but even when I’ve worn this concealer on a no makeup makeup day, it’s stayed smooth throughout with no powder holding it in place.

The last thing I love about it is that throughout the day, it doesn’t dry out my skin which is great as a dry skinned gal. At the same time, it doesn’t become oily so I think this would also be great for all skin types – but don’t quote me on this!

I’ve really enjoyed this concealer and I would definitely buy it again. It’s a great everyday essential and for the price it’s definitely worth every penny.

Have you tried any of the other NYX face products?

Love, always.
