As we’ve recently had a spell of lovely hot, not a cloud in sight, days in the UK. It’s got me craving everything neon, fruity and bright.
What better place to start feeling the summer love than on my nails.
To create this nail look I’ve put down a base of the Bluesky Neon 22 – Burlesque/Luminous Orange Gel polish (£6.50, Bluesky).
I applied around 4 thin coats of this to ensure an even and opaque finish to the nail.
I then took Nails Inc Special Effects nail varnish in Knightsbridge (no longer available, but very similar to Diamond Arcade (£15, Nails Inc)) and created a glitter fade from the bottom of my index finger, middle finger and thumb.
The holographic and silver glitter in the polish makes the neon orange pop even more than when worn alone, and let’s be honest, who doesn’t want glitter on their nails all year round?
Overall this look was super simple to achieve, I love adding normal polishes to my gel manicure – just be sure to cleanse the base gel colour before applying the varnish and then make sure that the varnish is fully dry before applying your final gel top coat.
Now I just need to decide, what neon colour next…
