Another Essentials Haul – This Time.. Boots

My hauls these days aren’t the most exciting I know. Bring back the days of Beauty Bay’s Biggest Fan Right Here.. Another Haul and So I went into Boots.. Another Haul.

Unfortunately, a spending ban is still currently enforced and this means having to make a compromise when doing any form of beauty shopping.

When I do get my little essentials shops in however, I often find that a couple of things do sneak in the basket.. by accident of course. But this is what makes my essentials trip so exciting.

This time, I was off to Boots to stock up on cotton pads, razors and Real Techniques beauty sponges. So let’s see what I actually came back with..

Cosmetic Super Soft Pleat (£1.45, Boots)

My cotton wool pads are running out, and they’re an essential part of my cleansing routine at night. After using my Clarisonic, I like to ensure that all of my makeup has been removed by using a cotton pad drenched in micellar water. Although I usually get the cotton wool pads, I was drawn in by this pleat. Hopefully it all works out.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion sponge 2 pack (£9.99, Boots)

In the past two weeks my current Real Techniques sponge seems to have taken a turn for the worse. I clean my sponges at least once every two weeks, I know it should be more but I have better things to do.. like watch Netflix, but after the last cleanse it seemed to become very gritty textured. As these sponges are so reasonably priced, I decided to go for a two pack so I have a backup for when this one starts going funny. And I’m making a little pact with myself to wash this one at least once a week. Let’s see how that goes.

Gillette Venus Embrace 4 Razor Blade Refills (£12.99, Boots)

The best thing I ever did was buy a Gillette Venus razor. It’s so convenient to keep purchasing good quality blades rather than consistently buying new disposable razors monthly. I personally don’t have a preference when it comes to the blades on offer. I tend to go for anything on offer, and the more blades the better. I find that the quality of Gillette Venus is so much better than the cheap tesco or Bic ones that you get for half the price. They create a smoother shave, less nicks and they last a hell of a lot longer. When it comes to razors I truly believe you get what you pay for.

Scunci Invisible No Slip Grip Jaw Clips 5 pack (£3.50, Boots)

When the weather gets warmer, I get more and more annoyed with my hair. As it gets more humid my hair will stick to my face and I want it out of my face! These clips looked great to just pop in your handbag, or have beside your bed, for a fast and easy way of getting that hair out of your face. Also – no bobbles means no kinks.

L’Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Overnight Self Tan Serum (£14.99, Boots)

I’ve been seeing a lot of good reviews about this tan and when I saw it in Boots, I was immediately drawn to it. I looked at the back of the bottle and saw that it claims that you’ll wake up with a golden glow that will last up to 2 weeks. I mean, that’s a big claim! There’s also a daytime version of this tan, but the nighttime one said it provides hydration as when we sleep we lose the moisture in our skin. As I always feel tan applies and stays better on moisturised skin, this felt like a no-brainer. I’m excited to try this!

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker XL Lip Plumping Gloss (£10, Boots)

At the moment I’m having a bit of a lip gloss/creamy lipstick phase. Don’t get me wrong, I live by a good matte lip but recently I’ve just been loving the look of a glossy pout. When I recently went to Dublin, I picked up a Victoria Secrets lip gloss – review coming soon – and since that trip I’ve been regretting not getting the plumping gloss which they had on offer. As soon as I saw this Soap & Glory gloss, I knew I had to have it. By the time I was in my car, I’d already bust open the packet and put it on and wow – it says it will tingle and it does – but I actually liked the sensation. So much that I put even more on when I got home. I’ll be sure to do a review on this and take before and after pictures to see if it really plumps the lips, but I can assure you already that the gloss is absolutely gorgeous.

Would you like a review on any of the products mentioned in this post? If so, please let me know in the comments and I’ll be sure to take it on board.

Love, always.

    1. I strangely like the feeling of them! But I know exactly where you’re coming from. It’s never quite what you expect x

  1. I’ve heard that the Real Techniques sponges in the double pack are not as good as the single one. Did you notice a difference?
