Peach. It’s a colour I don’t wear all that much on my lips year round, but it pops so beautifully next to bronzed skin and immediately gives out summer vibes to your whole look that it’s a colour story that is a certain in my collection – and I definitely should be reaching for it more often.
In this post I’m going to swatch for you my three go-to options when craving a peach lips, we’ll go from a nude peach to a pinky bright peach and finally the truest peach you could ever lay your eyes on. So without further ado, let’s do this.
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Hush ($17, OCC)
Now on the website this is advertised as a ‘neutral bridal pink’ but I feel like it’s the perfect nude peach colour with a hint of pink. The pigment in these lip tars is incredible and it drowns out any strong lip colour that you may naturally have. They go on incredible well and they do eventually dry down and leave a stain but they are a ‘lip tar’ meaning they go on quite glossy and thick as you can see in the swatch. Although it is a thick product, it’s not heavy feeling on the lips and not at all sticky. This is a perfect daytime throw on colour and perfect for a summer evening with a subtle smokey eye, it’s also a great one for those with fairer skin tones to wear peach.
P.S. OCC came out with new packaging for their Lip Tars and mine is from a couple years back, hence why I have the old style packaging.
NYX Matte Lipstick in Hippie Chic (£7, Boots)
This lipstick is the perfect mix of peach, pink and nude to create a bright pop of colour to the lips. It’s what I would call a ‘fun’ colour. It’s most definitely perfect for wearing with very simple makeup – foundation, bronzer, lashes and this lipstick would equal the ultimate summer look. Although matte, I wouldn’t go as far to say this lipstick is a flat matte, it’s more satin based which is great as it’s not so drying on the lips – although be warned if you do have any dryness, this will show up when wearing this lipstick.
Barry M Lipstick in 54 Peach (£4.95, LuxPlus)
Now this is the ultimate for those who want a true peach on their lips. This looks amazing with a super warm smokey eye look and also incredible when paired with a simple wing. When looking at different peach lipsticks on the market, this is definitely the ‘perfect peach’ of them all. It’s a satin-matte finish and it glides onto the lips leaving pigment in one swipe. It’s also very buildable without feeling heavy if you really want to make the lips opaque with colour.
Overall, although I would definitely reach for the OCC Lip Tar more than the other colours, I can’t deny that the Barry M lipstick is the most gorgeous colour and I’m going to try and reach for it a lot more now I’ve swatched it once more.
Which is your favourite?
