I’m So Late to the Stila Magnificent Metals Party

I remember when these metallic cream eye shadows came out last year and everyone was obsessed, ride or die, need them in your life, got to have them! I saw how amazing swatches looked and knew I’d get a hell of a lot of wear out of them as a girl who loves glitter, but for reasons unbeknown to me, I never did.. until now.

It’s crazy to say it.. but it’s coming round fast to the autumn/winter season and I can’t wait to be rocking glittery lids and dark lips. It’s one of my favourite go-to looks for that time of year and the Stila Magnificent Metals seemed like the most amazing option.

So, I caved.

After looking at what feels like hundreds of swatches I finally went for the shade Smouldering Satin (£23, Beauty Bay) which is a gorgeous champagne/bronze shade with silver fine glitter running through it.

I went for this shade as it’ll go with both warm and cool toned eye shadow looks. It’ll also layer beautifully over a natural eye and a dark smokey eye.

As you can see from the swatch, these cream eyeshadows are PIGMENTED. There’s a perfect amount of cream metallic eyeshadow mixed with glitter if you want to purely put this over the eyes and look like you’re dripping in metal.

You can also, which is what I like to do, place it in the inner corner as a glitter highlight and then pat the product gently across the eye giving an amazing subtle shimmer to your look.

The shadow itself doesn’t fade throughout the day, it’s very long lasting and once it’s set on the eye, it ain’t transferring no-where. Alongside this, even though it does have glitter pigments in it, this doesn’t make it difficult to remove. I know there’s nothing worse than cleaning your face and there’s all them little specks of glitter that just ain’t budging for love nor money.

Overall I’ve been loving this product and finding myself many different ways to use it. I’m intrigued to place it over eyeliner to create a glitter liner look. I think that would look stunning.

If you have any of these Magnificent Metals, what’s your favourite way to use it?

Love, always.

  1. I’m so happy you caved-I love these shadows. I think they’re probably some of the best on the market right now. Smoldering Satin was a great choice! My first was Kitten Karma, I then got Ballet Baby (a soft pink-stunning) and one of the Duo Chrone shades, Sea Siren. All worth every penny. Enjoy!
