A Baby Moisturiser Miracle!

Now if you follow me on Twitter, which if you don’t – why not? – you’ll find me @beccapbeauty, you’ll know what I’ve recently been suffering with really dry and sore eyelids.

After trying my own moisturisers, oils and such alike it seemed to be getting worse rather than better so I went to the local pharmacy to ask what they’d recommend.

Now the pharmacist, bless him, did say I should probably go to the doctor – but who has the time for that really? But in the meantime, he recommended I tried a medical moisturiser.

Medical moisturisers have no perfume within them and great moisturising properties. The one that I got my hands on was Diprobase (£4.99, Superdrug) and after a couple of days use, my eyes were no longer red, but unfortunately, they were still extremely dry.

This was driving me bananas, as you can imagine, someone who lives and breathes makeup – not being able to wear eyeshadow as it irritated the eye and quite frankly looked crap was killing me.

Now lucky for me, I wasn’t the only one suffering. A friend from work was also suffering with dry eyelids and another was suffering with dry skin on her cheeks. Together this made three of us who were dying for a solution.

Then, I started to get a red, dry patch on my neck – no, no, no.

One of my friends said she’d heard about this amazing baby moisturiser that was meant to be a miracle worker. At this point, I was willing to try anything!

So off we both went to boots to find the Child Farm Baby Moisturiser (£3.99, Boots). Suitable for both sensitive and eczema prone skin.

It’s 98% derived from natural products and it’s free from parabens, SLSs, mineral oils & artificial colours. All their products are cruelty-free and this product itself is completely vegan.

As soon as I got home, I applied it to my neck, eyelids and all over my face. At first it did sting a little, but that was more to do with the fact my skin was so dry than the moisturiser itself.

Now, I wish that I’d taken pictures to show before and afters – but unfortunately I didn’t.

Within two days, not one bit of scaly dry skin was on my eyelids. My neck was still a little dry but the bright pink patch that was there now wasn’t even detectable. It truly was a miracle.

Ever since, I’ve been applying this as both my morning and evening moisturiser. I haven’t had any breakouts occur and my skin is so smooth and moisturised all day long – it’s even great to put as a base under makeup.

I am quite a dry skinned gal anyway, and putting this onto my face each day has really helped my makeup stay put longer as my skin is truly moisturised for a change.

There’s nothing even stopping me from lathering my whole body with the stuff, I mean you get 250ml and it’s a great price.

Overall, I couldn’t be happier with this product and although I can’t guarantee it will work for you, as all skins react differently, I would definitely recommend giving it a go.

Let me know if you’ve discovered any beauty product gems that aren’t raally used for their intended purpose. I’d love to know!

Love, always.
