I’ve always been a big fan of Superdrug skincare. They have a great ethic of cruelty-free products and 99% of them are also suitable for us veggies and vegans out there.
Recently, my skin’s been going mad on me. It’s been super dry, a bit blotchy and extremely sensitive. Due to this fact, I’ve cut back my skincare routine massively and now only use a handful of products to keep it on track. Side note: If you’d like to see a skincare routine, please let me know and I’ll be happy to do a post on it. The only thing I was missing was something to give my skin that extra boost of moisture it sometimes needs, so on a trip to Superdrug I picked up this beauty to put to the test.
Superdrug Simply Pure Leave On Water Mask (£3.99, Superdrug).
The first thing that drew me in about this product was that it’s a leave on mask – and made of water?! It made me think that it’s really going to soak into the skin and hydrate it deep down and that sounded unreal.
On the website it says that this product is designed to provide lightweight, cooling hydration to uncomfortable and sensitive skin. Literally this product ticks all the boxes of what I wanted it to do!
I’ve had this mask now about four weeks and I use it at least once a week, unless I’m having a super dry day and then I’ll use it a couple of times. It’s a gel like texture that is a little sticky, so be sure to have a headband on and your hair back! However, I suppose the stickiness is the only way the water’s going to attach to your face and sink in.
As the description says, it’s very soothing and cooling to the face. I love the feel of it and it smooths beautifully making sure you have an even finish all over. It instructs you to put a layer of the product on, wait 5 – 10 minutes and then rub the excess into the skin.
Personally, I find that after about 10 minutes it’s pretty much all sunk in anyway – maybe this is just because my skin is so dry I don’t know but it does leave a slight tack to the face that doesn’t leave until after about 30 minutes. So I’d advise that if you’re doing this before bed, have a cup of tea before actually putting your head near a pillow as you’re going to stick to it!
I’ve found that I’ve had no nasty reactions to this product, it leaves me with super silky skin and as I do usually do it in the evening, I find I wake up with a less blotchy complexion.
For the price you pay for this product, I’d definitely recommend it to any of my sensitive girls out there but at the same time, I wouldn’t say it works absolute wonders so it’s not a must have. If anything, for me, this is just a little extra thing I do to make me feel like I’m having a mini treatment and if you enjoy to ‘spoil’ yourself on occasion, I’d definitely give it a whirl.
Have you got any recommendations for sensitive skin face masks? I’d love to know so I’m able to try some out.
Love, always.

Aw thanks for this Becca, a Superdrug store just opened near me, so I’m going to give this one a go defo.
This is super useful, I have sensitive skin and is not always easy to find the stuff to apply on it and look flawless.
