A Super Simple Technique for a Sharp Cut Crease

Everywhere I look, be it Instagram, YouTube or even Twitter and Facebook, everyone’s rocking the cut crease and not in the conventional way of the meaning.
I’ve seen so many people doing ‘half eye’ cut creases by carving the line out after doing their crease shadow with concealer or a cream eyeshadow that I was dying to have a go myself.

Now, don’t get me wrong – the look I’ve created isn’t perfect, but everyday’s a school day and practise really does make perfect with makeup.

I opted to go for a warm smoky eye with a pop of coral shimmer for my half cut crease and my goodness, this was super easy to do. So I encourage each and everyone of you that if like me, you’re absolutely terrified that a cut crease would go horribly wrong and just mess up the whole look, give this technique a go.

Not only is it super simple but it’s very wearable! Some cut creases go to the extreme and aren’t suitable for everyday wear but the look I’ve created below is suitable for anything from shopping with the girls, a lunch date or even a night out. I can’t wait to try this technique out with more colours – I’m thinking khaki and yellow next, who wants to see that?!

Childs Farm Moisturiser (£4.50, Superdrug)
The Ordinary Serum Foundation in 2.0N Light Medium (£5.75, Beauty Bay)
Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer in 2 Medium (£8.99, Superdrug)* under eyes, on chin and down the nose.
Both applied and blended with the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge (£5.99, Superdrug)
Makeup Revolution Luxury Banana Powder (£5, Superdrug)
Using the flattened side of the Real Techniques Sponge to bake under the eyes and on the T-zone

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Soft Ochre (£16, MAC Cosmetics)
Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye Contour palette (£37, Debenhams)
Taking the shade Laetus all over the lid
Applied with the Real Techniques Foundation brush from the Flawless Base Set (£19.99, Superdrug)
Then taking the shade Samael into the crease
Applied using the Zoeva Soft Definer brush (£9, Beauty Bay)
On the outer corner, adding the darker shade Sytry to define
Packing this on with the Zoeva Luxe Smoky Shader brush (£9, Beauty Bay) and using the Soft Definer to blend everything together. Repeat this process until you have the depth you desire
Again, on the Smoky Shader taking the shade Succubus on the centre of the eye to add warmth
To begin the cut crease, carve out the inner third of the lid with Soft Ochre
Applied using the Flat Packing brush from the Morphe 12 Piece Sable set (£14, Beauty Bay)
To add the pop of colour to the cut crease section, using the finger to pack on Makeup Geek eyeshadow in Mango Tango (£4.95, Beauty Bay)
Then add your wing using the Ciate London Fierce Flicks liner (£15, Birchbox) and using the same liner take it into the upper water line
MAC Eyeshadow in Nylon (£13.50, MAC Cosmetics) popped into the inner corner of the eye and to highlight under the brow
Applied using the Zoeva Luxe Petit Crease brush (£9, Beauty Bay)
Bourjois Push Up Glamour Mascara (£8.99, Superdrug)* on the upper lashes
3D Waterproof Magnetic Eyelashes (£4.32, BeautyBigBang)**
