A Boots Haul, Thanks to a Cheeky Gift Card

Yes, I got a gift card off my Mum at Christmas and it’s taken me three months to actually get round to spending it – if you know me, that’s a miracle. Usually, as soon as I have a gift card, especially if it’s beauty related (or ASOS), it’ll be gone within a matter of hours.

I’d saved it, even though it was killing me, to get something I really wanted. I didn’t want to buy a refill of foundation, concealer or a mascara because mine had ran out. I wanted to buy something that I know I really shouldn’t, but then I feel less guilty because technically it was a gift. So let’s take a look at what I got.. and yes, I still ended up spending more than was on the giftcard. Some things just can’t be helped.

Maybelline Superstay 24 Hour Matte Ink Lipstick in Fighter and Amazonian (£9.99 each, Boots)
After recently watching a Jamie Genevieve YouTube video where she wore the shade Fighter – a gorgeous brown orange nude and then hearing from my bestie Chazz that the swatches she’d recently done whilst in store just wouldn’t come off, I knew this was the kind of lip product I wanted in my life.
The Jamie effect must have been in full force as there was full stock of every colour apart from Fighter. Luckily, I got my hands on the last one!
I also picked up Amazonian which is a similar colour to fighter, but within the pink rather than the orange family.
They’re creamy, not drying and highly pigmented. They’re going to be great for everyday wear, as well as when I want to be a bit more glam.

Tangle Teezer Compact Styler Glitter Gem (£13.50, Boots)
My life changed when I first got a Tangle Teezer a few years back. They really are the most amazing hairbrush ever invented and if you don’t own one – then you need to get one in your life.
With the crazy wind and cold weather recently, I’m always wearing hats and if my hairs down, it becomes knotty ever so quickly. So I decided to invest in one of the compact stylers. These come with a base to ensure the bristles don’t get messed up in your bag. It also ensures that nothing in your bag goes into the bristles. And hello?!?! This one’s glittery – what more could I want from a brush?

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Original (£4.99, Boots)
I’ve ran out of my current bottle and I’m nearly out of my Bumble & Bumble Pret-a-Powder, which is actually what I wanted to get, but unfortunately, they no longer sell Bumble & Bumble in my Boots! So, I got myself a big bottle of the original scent – as I do find some of the more scented ones less effective. Bonus was, they had a deal on where you got a mini travel size one for free. I find they’re great for a weekend away or if you’re having a particularly bad hair day and you know you’ll want to just top it up later on.

NYX Born To Glow Illuminator in Gleam (£8, Boots)
This is a product that’s actually been on my want list for a very long time and it wasn’t until I was browsing the makeup aisles that I remembered I was after it. The reason that I was after it is after seeing Sabrina (ItsSabrina) using it as a primer. Her skin looked flawless, glowy and healthy, and that was before she’d even put her foundation on.
I wanted to try this as I think it might be a perfect product in the summer when you’re all tanned and you don’t really want to wear a full face of makeup. This, with some concealer and I reckon I’ll be onto a winner.

What’s the most recent product you bought from Boots? & have you been enjoying it?

Love, always.

  1. The most recent thing I got from Boots was a highlighter stick, and yes, I’m enjoying it. I have one of those compact brushes too – great for the handbag and doesn’t take up too much space because it doesn’t have a handle.
