Makeup Revolution are well known for their affordable, quality products and when their recent concealer came out, there was so much hype around it. A hype that I didn’t buy into there and then, mainly because you couldn’t find the concealers in stock anywhere.

When I was in Superdrug recently, the concealer was in stock – however, I had no idea what shade to get as there was only a few available. The lighter ones being the main ones out of stock aside from F3. So after swatching a few, I decided that C3 was way too light for me. I’m not personally a big fan of the super bright highlighted face and as we’re coming into the summer months and I’ll hopefully be tanner, this colour really wasn’t for me – so I went for C8 in the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define concealer (£4, Superdrug).

What I like about C8 is that it’s a medium shade with peachy undertones. This means it’ll be great for counteracting any purple or blue tones that may lurk under the eyes. Alongside this, as it’s darker in colour that my usual concealer shade, it’ll also be great for any spot concealing around the face.
The texture of it seems not too heavy and very creamy. When swatching you can tell that it’ll blend out easily – meaning it should be good for building up if needed in any problem areas.

In terms of application, as you can see in the pictures it has a really big doe foot applicator. This makes it great for popping under the eyes or highlighting the face. However, if you’re going to use it for spot concealing, you’ll have to use your own brush to apply it as this would make super big blobs on your face. This isn’t necessarily a downside of the product though as they market it as a concealer used for highlighting and contouring the face rather than spot concealing.

As I was already browsing the Makeup Revolution section, I noticed that they had a fair few of the Fast Base Foundation Stick shades in. I’ve recently ordered a lighter shade in my MAC Face and Body Studio Foundation because I’m currently at that stage where all my light foundations are too light and my darker ones I’m not tanned enough for. Alongside that, none of them really mix together well. So, I decided to get a lighter shade in this foundation as I thought I could use it to brighten up a darker foundation by applying it towards the centre – kinda like what I assume the concealers should be used for. The shade I went with is F4 (£5, Superdrug).

This stick is very creamy and glides onto the skin without dragging. As you can see from the swatches, I’d say this shade is a light medium with pretty neutral undertones – meaning it’ll blend seamlessly with any of my other foundations. I can imagine because of it’s solid stick form, it’ll be best blended with a sponge. I’m excited to try it out in real life and I’ll be sure to keep you updated with how I get on with it as I don’t have many bases that are full coverage.
