Pixi Skincare Saviours That You Need To Buy NOW!

I’m having a bit of a love affair with Pixi Beauty at the moment. The past three products I’ve bought from them I absolutely love and it’s made me want to delve deeper and deeper into what they have to offer. Anyone who follows Caroline Hirons knows that their skincare is highly rated, not only by her but many others. For this reason, I decided to invest in a couple of things from their skincare range.

Of course, I had to get the raved about Glow Tonic (£18, Cult Beauty).
This product is said to brighten, tone and condition your skin when used as the final step in your cleansing routine.

The key ingredient in this tonic is the glycolic acid (5%). What it does is gently exfoliate away the dead cells from your skins surface to reveal the healthy new cells that are layered underneath and my goodness does it work.

I wanted to give this product a good go before telling you all my opinion, as I believe that skincare needs a transitional period with your skin before you get the results you’re looking for and that was definitely the case with the glow tonic.

I’ve been using this tonic for almost a month now and I’ve got to say that the first couple of weeks were rough. It broke me out and I had loads of tiny whiteheads appear in areas like my forehead and around my nose. However, I think this was more down to the fact that I don’t use any kind of exfoliator on my face, ever. So my skin freaked out a little. After the two week mark, the breakouts have calmed down. I still occasionally get a horrendous spot – but let’s be honest that’s just human nature. I’ve definitely noticed that the pores, especially on my forehead and around my nose appear to have gotten smaller and when I wake up in the mornings, my skin really does look glowy.

I use this product at night after I’ve completed my cleanse by simply soaking a cotton pad and going around my whole face. You shouldn’t take it too close to the eyes due to the skin there being super sensitive – so be sure to leave the ‘panda circles’ around your eyes free from any exposure to the product.
I also use the product in the same way in the morning – then applying moisturiser before cracking on with putting my makeup on. I’d say I’ve used just over a quarter of the bottle – maybe a third at this point. So you’ll probably need to repurchase this around every 2 – 3 months depending how you use it, but I think it’s worth every penny and I can’t believe I didn’t start using it earlier.

The true test was that by complete fluke, I forgot to use it for three days in a row last week. I broke out something terrible and thought nothing of it. Then I realised I’d not been using the Glow Tonic and the morning after the night I’d applied it again – the breakout was almost completely vanished. If that doesn’t tell you how amazing it is, then I don’t know what will.

As I’d been loving the Glow Tonic so much and had been seeing the wonders it was doing for my pores, I also decided to give the T-Zone Peel Off Mask (£18, Cult Beauty) a go. This was mainly due to seeing my bae Chloe Morello rave about it on either her Instagram stories or possibly one of her videos/vlogs.

This product is essentially a biore strip in mask form – meaning it’s gonna get all of those pesky blackheads out of your nose and provide you with great satisfaction when you’re peeling them away – who doesn’t love that? Any Dr. Sandra Lee lovers out there, be sure to let me know so I don’t feel alone in this!

The mask itself as you can see is a true ‘Pixi green’ pale mint shade with shimmer running through it. Because if you’re going to sit with a mask on your T-Zone for 15 minutes, why not look pretty doing it?

What you need to do with this, is apply a thick layer onto any areas where you get blackheads. I apply it to my nose, the sides of my nose, my chin and of course my forehead. It dries down within about 10 minutes but I leave it on closer to 30 minutes, just to make sure it’s really stuck.
Once dry, all you need to do is simply peel it off and boom, your blackheads now live on the Pixi mask and not in the pores of your face.

Now although this is highly satisfying and it can be used 1 – 2 times a week, I do have to say it’s no miracle worker. You’re still going to get blackheads – but it does help with the appearance of them and also makes the skin feel super smooth. It’s a great one to do before doing a full glam. I think the box itself says there’s avocado oil in the mask. This ensures that your skin doesn’t become sensitive and pink once you’ve peeled everything off.

As I’ve been loving these products, I’ve continued to eye up some of their other skincare items and I’d love to know if you use any that you’d highly recommend.

Love, always.

    1. Which one from The Body Shop do you use?
I honestly can’t say enough good things about the Glow Tonic. If you do give it a go, I’d love to know what you think x
