My go-to eye makeup is probably a subtle smoky eye. You know the kind I mean? Messy, dishevelled and not too dark. Basically, I just whack a colour all over the eyes and call it a thing – but hey if it works for me, it’ll also work for you.

For today’s look I wanted to create a glam bronze ‘subtle smoky eye’ using a shade I’ve not really been using as much as I would like from the Pixi Palette Chloette (£28, Cult Beauty). The shade is Swoon and it’s a gorgeous bronze metallic – perfect for the summer!

I kept the base and lips pretty fresh, so it gives you that ‘haven’t tried but look super bronzed’ look. So, if you’d like to know how to create this super simple, subtle smokey eye – look no further.

Applied with the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge (£5.99, Superdrug)

Makeup Revolution Luxury Banana Powder (£5, Superdrug) to set under the eyes with the same sponge

Pixi Palette Chloette (£28, Cult Beauty)
Taking the shade Swoon all over the lid and under the eye – really blending it out
Applied with the Zoeva Soft Definer brush (£9, Beauty Bay)

Then taking the same shade but really packing it on and defining near the lash line
To do this, I used the Zoeva Smoky Shader brush (£9, Beauty Bay)
To then define even further at the lashes, I took the shade Unity – a dark matte brown – from the same palette. Applying this closely to both the upper and lower lashes

Applied with the Zoeva Wing Liner brush (£8, Beauty Bay)
L’Oreal Miss Baby Roll Waterproof Mascara (£7.99, Superdrug) to both upper and lower lashes
Then taking the shade Fairytale – a rose gold shimmer – from the Palette Chloette into the inner corner
Applied with the Pencil Brush from the Storybook Cosmetics Wand Collection (£40, Beauty Bay)

Taking the shades Knot – an ashy mid brown with Unity – a matte dark brown shadow to fill in the brows
Applied with the Zoeva Brow Line Brush (£8, Beauty Bay)

Makeup Revolution Baked Bronzer in Rock on World (£4, Superdrug)
Applied to the perimeters of the face and cheeks with the Models Own Blush brush from the On The Go collection (£14.99, Models Own)
You guessed it! From the Palette Chloette, taking Romance – a dark mauve – onto the apples of the cheeks
Applied with the Real Techniques Blush Brush (£9.99, Superdrug)
To add a glow to the cheeks, taking the shades Fairytale and Passion onto the same blush brush and putting this all across the high points, as a kind of blush topper
