You’ll Go Bananas For This Lip Gloss

Since I discovered their amazing eyeshadow palettes a few years ago, Stila has fast become of my my favourite brands. Although I don’t own many products from them, the ones that I do own, I love – and that’s always a good sign of a brand that creates quality products.

On a recent shopping trip with my Mum, I remembered that she’d purchased one of their lip glazes and asked how she’d been finding it. She couldn’t sing the praises about it enough and for that reason, I decided it was time to get my own.

I knew that I wanted a nude toned gloss as these always go perfectly with any makeup look and they’re also great for applying over lipsticks, without changing the colour too much. After much swatching, I came across one called Banana Berry. Any one who knows me, knows that I bloody love bananas and it was like it was meant to be.

The Stila Lip Glaze in Banana Berry (£15, Stila UK) is a gorgeous nude berry tone. It’s deep enough to really be seen on the lips and not leave that nudey scum in the corners of your lips – if you know what I mean.

The applicator’s one I’ve never really used before for a lip gloss product. It’s a click and brush packaging – one that I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about due to having to brush the product onto the lips. Surprisingly, it’s actually a great way to put the gloss onto the lips. It would also be a great applicator to add the gloss just where you’d like it, if you were putting it over a lipstick to make your lips look more pouty for example.

The scent of the product is quite fruity and as can be expected from a gloss, the texture is of course sticky. I probably wouldn’t wear it with my hair down if it was windy but it’s definitely not as sticky as some other lip glosses I’ve tried in the past.

I don’t know if it’s due to the texture/stickiness of the product but the gloss stays on for a long time considering the type of product it is. The colour of this gloss is pigmented enough to show a little more than sheer tint to the lips and that sticks around for a good three hours – this is obviously dependant on how much eating and drinking you’re doing.

I’ve been really impressed with this gloss and it’s definitely a great colour for these colder autumn months, thanks to being a deeper nude. It’s gone straight into my everyday makeup bag and I’ll be checking more of them out next time I’m in store.

Have you got any of the Stila Lip Glazes? I’d love to know what you think of them and if there’s any colour recommendations you’ve got for me.

Love, always.
