When it comes to bold lipsticks, I always play it safe with my whole makeup look. I’ll either go with lots of lashes or something super simple like a wing. Makeup’s all about experimentation and it’s always good to mix it up and think outside of the box when putting on a lipstick – or maybe eyeshadow look – that you always wear the same way.

I think that when it comes to doing something a little different, the best thing to do to make sure that the makeup look ends up looking amazing is sticking to the same colour family. So in my case today, I’m going to be wearing the amazing Bengal Tiger from MAC – a gorgeous bright orange shade. When I was thinking about creating a smoky eye with it, I made sure to use orangey toned browns and an orange toned blush to bring the look together.

If you were wearing a bright pink – this isn’t to say you should go wear a bright pink eyeshadow to go with it. It means looking at the undertones, so if we took Candy Yum Yum for example, that’s a blue-toned pink meaning when looking at shadows, you’d be best going for a cool toned palette with a cool toned blush.

I’ve really enjoyed doing something a little out of my comfort zone and unfortunately this makeup only got to see the inside of B&M. I’ll definitely create this again though for a night out or even daytime. I purposely left highlighter off the face, to make sure it didn’t look too much for the daytime but I mean, add that sparkle and you’ve got a glam face ready to go.
