A Winter Look With A Summer Palette

Much like your clothing, pieces of makeup in your collection belong to either your summer ‘wardrobe’ or your winter ‘wardrobe’. But why should that be the case? Especially when it comes to eyeshadow palettes, there’s so much choice within that one palette that there’s always a way to make it work and I’m here to show you how.

The reason this post came along was due to me wanting to reach for my Jeffree Star Thirsty Palette (£45, Beauty Bay) recently but thinking the warm colours were going to be a bit too much for this time of year. HELL NAH – this girl’s gonna make it work.

Yes, the shades in this palette are very warm toned and are perfect for glowy skin but there’s no reason I can’t take the golds and mid toned shades to create a perfect Christmas ready look – so that’s what I did and you’d like to find out what I did, please read the steps below.

I’d also love to know if there’s any items of your makeup that you usually reserve for a certain season and if so, I challenge you to create a makeup look suited for the season using them – post the links to your makeup looks in the comments below. I’ll be sure to check them out!

  1. I usually save bright lipsticks, like hot pink or orange for summer, as well as pastels for spring…but I feel like the trend this winter is bright colors! So many holiday collections showcase this, so it seems like a great time to play with the “summer” colors 😊 love the post!

    1. You’re so right! I think bright lipsticks are definitely one to reach for this winter. I’m thinking maybe a grungy eye with a playful pink lip would be a great look! X
