Juice Be Yourself

Orange juice, whether you like it with bits or not, is a great nutritious drink to have in moderation. It’s the perfect drink to have with breakfast or throughout the day with a sweet treat.

Nutrients.

Orange juice is a super concentrated source of vitamin C, which is great for both your immune system and skin health. It’s also a great antioxidant for the body, helping to keep the cells from being damaged.

In a glass of orange juice, there’s also around 15% of the daily recommended amount of folate. This helps to support fetal growth and developments, so it’s perfect for those who are expecting or looking to start trying.

Within orange juice there’s also potassium, which helps to regulate blood pressure and magnesium which helps to maintain normal nerve and muscle function!

Antioxidants.

Antioxidants are a great source of maintaining overall health. They can help to protect the cells and help to decrease the risk of chronic diseases, such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes. The antioxidants can also help to reduce cholesterol.

Reducing inflammation.

Some studies have shown that drinking orange juice can decrease inflammation and some of the things that can come with it. This is things such as chronic disease, as mentioned in the antioxidants sections.

It’s not all good.

Orange juice is good for you, but only in moderation. It’s high in sugar, even though it’s unrefined it’s not ideal to consume a lot of sugar in on sitting. Unlike when eating an orange itself, there’s a lot less fiber which means it’s not as filling or nutritious as actually eating the fruit.

It’s recommended that orange juice should be enjoyed as a treat and not be part of a daily diet. If you do enjoy orange juice, try where possible to get freshly squeezed or a brand that doesn’t add extra sugar or sweetener to their product.

The most important question left is, do you have yours with or without bits?
