Vegan Doughnuts: Where To Buy Them (UK)

Are you like me a big time doughnut lover? Now if you’re reading this on the day it’s published, today is national doughnut day – so what better way to celebrate than with a whole bag of doughnuts? As a vegan, you probably already know that you have a lot of choice from the UK supermarkets for your fix, but this post is for those who either don’t know, want to know or people who may need to know for when they have vegan friends or family come to visit.

Morrisons.

I’m putting these bad boys first cause they’re my absolute favourite. Morrison’s bakery doughnuts are vegan and honestly, in my opinion they’re the best ones available in the UK supermarkets. I’d like you to let me know if you agree in the comments section.

I know that the raspberry jam, strawberry jam and salted caramel doughnuts are vegan but couldn’t find information about the custard ones. If you know let me know so I can update this post! Now if you’re allergic to products such as milk, eggs etc or you’re against products that may contain a trace it’s advised to not have them as there may be cross contamination. Please note, stores may differ so it’s always best to check the label!

Sainsbury’s.

According to blog posts I’ve researched for my own, Sainsbury’s Jam and Custard doughnuts are both vegan friendly. As with all products in this post, this may vary and it’s always best to ask the baker or check the label to be completely sure.

Co-Op.

Much like Sainsbury’s, The Co-op bakery in both jam and custard are vegan friendly. From what I can remember, these are more of a caster sugar covered doughnut compared to Morrison’s icing sugar ones, so if that’s more your style these are for you!

Ring doughnuts.

I’m using this post as an opportunity to put it out into the universe that all of ‘us vegans’ aren’t just about the jam and custard filled doughnuts Sometimes we fancy a sprinkle doughnut and at the moment, I’m not able to see anywhere that sells vegan friendly versions of these. I’d absolutely love to see some come out in the near future, so let’s keep our eyes peeled and our mouths at the ready!

Love, always – B
