One of my dearest friends got in touch to ask me to draw her two cats. Whenever someone close to me asks for an illustration, I’m over the moon. Support so close to home makes me super happy and I always hope that drawing their pets makes them happy too!

Clive & Knickers.

Carly’s two cats couldn’t be more different if they tried. Clive is a black and white short haired cat with the most amazing facial markings. He has a cute ‘half mustache’ and a little beard with I absolutely love. Knickers is a super fluffy long haired cat with gorgeous tones of beige, blonde and grey. I knew drawing her would be a challenge but a challenge is something I absolutely love.

Knickers.

I started with Knickers to make sure I got her fur absolutely spot on and I used multiple layers of each colour to really help get the texture of her long fur blended in and I think it worked really well.

The final piece.

I was absolutely thrilled with how this piece turned out in the end. I love the pose that Carly picked and the two of them together is so cute. Do you love it too?
