As a vegan I find that finding ‘selection box’ chocolates can be quite difficult. There’s nothing I love more than around celebrations or Christmas, getting a big box of mixed chocolates and treating myself to a couple with a lovely hot cup of tea or coffee every hour or two (oops). Although, as far as I’m aware there’s no vegan big box of chocolates like there is quality streets, roses or celebrations, I have started to get together a good selection of chocolate bars that taste similar to the sweets inside. Then maybe closer to Christmas, I can buy a bunch and wrap them up in sections to create a similar vibe.. but more about that closer to the time!

For now, let’s talk about the famous strawberry cream, strawberry dream, strawberry delicious goodness that’s in the famous selection boxes.

Fry’s.

Since going vegan I’ve been a big fan of Fry’s for their affordability and different flavours. They give me that sweetness I’m after from a chocolate bar, without costing the earth cause let’s be real, vegan chocolate bars are about £1.50 a pop for a decent one!

I’m a sucker for the Fry’s mint creams and when they brought out a strawberry cream earlier this year I knew it was going to be the little piece of heaven that I needed in my life and boy oh boy what I right.

Move over quality street.

These bars are perfect for anyone! If you’re a fan of the strawberry sweets from selection boxes, then this is what you’re after. For just £1 from most bargain shops, you get 3 bars of yumminess. I’m a big chocolate in the fridge fan which is great for the dark chocolate on the outside but does make the strawberry cream inside from of a firm fondant that an oozy one so depending on which you prefer, that’s something to think about.

Overall, I’m a big fan of these. I love the raspberry ones too but they’re a lot richer in taste that the strawberry ones, which are the perfect amount of sickly sweet. Do you love Fry’s chocolate? I’d love to know which your favourite flavour is, so let me know in the comments below!
