Even David Wants You To Go Plant Based

Now, if you don’t have mad respect for my main man David Attenborough, I feel like you’ve not watched enough of his programmes. Here in the UK (in case you’re from elsewhere and have never heard of him) David is a national treasure. He’s created hundreds of documentaries about nature, conserving nature and how amazing the natural world is. Since I was a little kid, knowing David Attenborough was going to be on usually on a Sunday evening was the highlight of my week.

Recently, our David who’s even made speeches at Glastonbury to encourage people to care more about the environment, has told people to go vegetarian to save wildlife and the planet. Now of course, I’m a vegan myself but I agree that every little step is a step in the right direction and going vegetarian, mainly plant based or going vegan is one of the easiest and most amazing things you can do for this Earth.

In one of his documentaries, David said ‘We must change our diet. The planet can’t support billions of meat-eaters. If we had a mostly plant-based diet we could increase the yield of the land.‘ This isn’t just someone saying something, it’s the truth.

Saving the planet.

Now, anyone who knows me in real life will know I’m one to tell you my opinion but I’m going to tell you how or what you should eat. It’s everyone’s personal choice but I do believe that if you educated yourself enough about the affects on your health, the planet and all the other things that come with animal agriculture, if you didn’t stop altogether you’d certainly try and cut down. You can read more about how eating meat, dairy and eggs is bad for the planet here: Veganuary: Save Our Planet.

I personally love when anyone with influence, be them a celebrity or national treasure, expresses their opinions and beliefs on something which is so important to all of us. I hope that David’s word encourage people around the world to think a little bit more about their choices when choosing what to eat each day. After all, every little steps helps.

Let me know what your favourite plant based meal is below. Mine is Tofu Thai Red Curry, yum-my!

Love, always – B
