A Bad Day Isn’t A Bad Life

This rule goes for so many things but honestly, this means so much more than ever at the moment. I often will have maybe a bad day at work or have a day where I have migraine meaning I’m not able to do anything all day and it seems as though it’s never going to end. I honestly sit there and think ‘will this ever end?’. It’s so important for me to remember that the bad day, the migraine, the shit situation that’s maybe just happened will pass.

It’s not the end.

If you’re dramatic (like me) or an over thinker, you’ll definitely get into your own head during these situations and think that nothing’s going to change, you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel or you just think this means your job, relationship or something else is not for you. That’s not always the case. With all things in life, there’s going to be blips.

These blips as I’m now going to call them could be learning curves, they could be to show you something isn’t working or it could actually be that you’re being a complete over thinker and it’s not even a blip at all.

If something like this ever happens, I don’t want you to think that it’s the end of the world. Of course, some situations won’t play into this rule, for example losing a loved one, that’s something that you won’t ever be over and that’s okay. This is in relation to situations that aren’t going to go on forever. A bad day at work doesn’t mean everyday will be bad, an argument with a friend doesn’t mean you’re going to never speak to each other again and so on and so forth.

A bad day doesn’t mean a bad life – so be positive and remember, there’s going to be better times and you just need to think positive to get there.

If you have any tips for this, be sure to leave them below.

Love, always – B

  1. I had a bad shift at clinical where 3 nurses ganged up on me and talked badly about me behind my back to my preceptor. Trying to get through a 12 hour shift very upset was not pleasant. I cried…. I even questioned if I am cut out for this job. I’ve gotta go back there Wednesday night. ☹️

    1. Oh Hilary I’m so sorry to hear. I can’t begin to imagine how you must have felt but please remember, what happened says more about them than it does you! If they’re going to talk about you that way behind you back, show them how strong you are and prove them wrong. You have got this!!

      1. That’s good advice. Thank you for your encouragement, Becca! My preceptor suggested that I should prove them wrong as well, and to take their criticism and use it to get stronger. Being a team player is challenging when the team treats you like an outsider. They don’t talk to me which makes things extra challenging. Last night, I definitely felt like I hit an all time low. You’re totally right – we all have our bad days but not all days are bad. Also, I realize that we can’t change people. We can only change ourselves.
