Considering this lipstick is now more of a nib, I think the case on this one is clear. I love it! There’s never been a MAC lipstick which I have been able to write negative comments about, I’ve said it many times before, but they just get it right every single time.
Embrace Me is one of the matte formula lipsticks and it is a vivid pink fuchsia. I am extremely sad to discover, after going to find a link for you on MAC’s website, that they no longer make it! However they do have a lip pencil under the same shade name, and presumably the same colour, (£12.50, maccosmetics.co.uk).
As with all MAC lipsticks the sweet vanilla scent is there, and the pigmentation of this lipstick is super. It goes on opaque with one swipe and looks great with winged liner for an edgy pin-up look.
The lipstick itself is very long wearing lasting around 5-6 hours before it needs retouching, if you do eat/drink as with most lip products you’ll find this time is shorter. It is very comfortable on the lips and although it is a matte formula I don’t find to be overly drying throughout wear. It’s an overall show stopper.
As the lipstick is now discontinued I have compared it on my hand to similar shades which I own, Candy Yum Yum (£15.50, maccosmetics.co.uk) and Barry M’s Shocking Pink. From the image you can see that Candy Yum Yum is an amped up, more neon version of Embrace me and Shocking Pink is slightly more warm based. So it looks like I’m gonna have to buy the lip pencil version of the colour when this one runs out.
Do you know any colours similar to Embrace Me which are matte in texture? Let me know!
