Simply Green with Envy – Eye Makeup Tutorial

If you’re anything like me, I stick to the usual neutral shades when doing my eye makeup. However, I recently got some new Makeup Geek shadows (Make Up Geek Eyeshadow Haul – OMG) which have made me want to try and add more colour to my everyday eye routine. I created this look to combine a neutral everyday look with a hint of green, and I’m loving it. I hope you do too!

Makeup Geek eyeshadow in Tiki Hut (£6, Beauty Bay) blended all over the moving lid and in the crease using the Zoeva Soft Definer from the Classic Eye Brush Set (£38, Beauty Bay). I also took this shade under the eye. To further diffuse the Tiki Hut colour, I took the fluffy brush from my Storybook Cosmetics Wand collection (Storybook Cosmetics Wand Brushes). This creates a beautiful everyday subtle smokey eye.

I then took the Makeup Geek foiled eyeshadow in Jester (£9.25, Beauty Bay) on the Spectrum Short Smudge brush (£4, Beauty Bay) and applied it on top of Tiki Hut over the moving lid and under the eye. This creates a faint duochrome over the lid.

Taking the same MUG Jester shade, I took the Sponge Applicator from the 12 Piece Morphe Set (£12.50, Beauty Bay) and applied it more prominently to the centre third of the moving lid. I mirrored this on the lower eye in the same placement.

To ensure the Jester Shade didn’t get lost amongst the duochrome eye, I took the same Zoeva Soft Definer brush with Tiki Hut. I softly enhanced the depth of the brown over the inner and outer third of the eye.

Repeat these steps until you get your desired look. You can add more brown and green as you wish. To create a more glam look, I’d also suggest wetting your Sponge Applicator to create an intense pop of green.

I then took the Avon Supershock Gel Eyeliner in Black (£6, AVON) and used this on both the upper and lower waterlines.

I used the Rimmel London Scandaleyes Shadow Stick in Champagne (£4.49, Boots) to highlight the inner corner of my eye. The champagne compliments the green tones of the eye makeup.

I finished with L’Oreal Miss Hippie Waterproof Mascara in black (£7.99, Boots) on both the upper and lower lashes.

Brows: WunderBrow 1-Step Brow Gel in Brown/Black (£19.95, Boots)

  1. This is so gorgeous! Green is that colour in a palette that I always leave untouched and I didn’t think anything could persuade me to try it, but this actually has, it’s so subtle and pretty I’ll definitely be trying it out!x

    1. I was exactly the same, it’s even tempted me to try blues and purples, all sorts. Who knows what eye look will come next haha! Xx

  2. I usually stick to the natural shades too. But this has given me some idea of how I can introduce a bit of color to my eye makeup routine too!

    Thank you and great pictures!
