A Very Metallic Kissmass

I love the look of metallic lips. Although the first thought that comes to mind when thinking of metallic is space-age, these days metallics are a very wearable and bold way to make a statement.

When I was kindly gifted some of the Bourjois Metallic Lip Creams (£7.99 each, Superdrug) thanks to Influenster, I was so excited to try them out. Metallics are something I don’t feel I’d very often wear, so not a product I would search for and purchase when looking for a new lip product.

This was the perfect opportunity for me to try them out and my goodness, am I impressed.

I have to say – if you haven’t already read my All 12 Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipsticks review, you should definitely check that out too!

I was gifted with three gorgeous colours, two wearable and one very bold and I’ve swatched them below so that you’re able to get a better idea of them on the lips – I mean who doesn’t love a lip swatch.

The formula of these lip creams is rich saturated colour which is extremely comfortable on the lips. Although a cream texture, they do wear well throughout the day, with the deeper colours – such as the hot pink I’m about to show you – leaving a stain on the lips.

So let’s get into the colours..

Supernova – a champagne peachy nude

This is a great day-to-day metallic. It’s a little stark, meaning it’s best paired with a darker lip liner to ensure that it doesn’t look too frosty and pale. This one is also perfect for accenting the lip by placing it in the middle of an already nude lip – which is definitely my favourite way to wear it.

Guilded Rose – a copper toned rose with gold flecks

The most wearable of the bunch that I was sent. Due to the rose undertone, this is perfect for everyday way to add a bit of a different vibe to any daytime look. The colour is pigmented enough to wear alone and there’s no need for a lip liner. I can imagine that this would look great on all skin tones.

Neon Nights – a blue toned hot pink with silver reflects

Wow. That’s the best way to describe this colour. If worn with a bold eye, you are going to get a very 70s style look. It’s the most glittery looking of the three I have and the bright colour is really going to add a statement. Personally, I would wear this with a simple winged liner to give all the attention to the lips – I mean after all, this colour deserves it don’t you think.

So whether you’re after a neutral metallic or a show stopper, there’s a range of eight to choose from. If you’re really daring there’s an amazing shade called Midnight Metal which I can imagine looks amazing on.

As I said, it’s not really a lip product that I would typically go for, but as with the lipsticks I was sent the other month, these lip creams have really impressed me.

I’ve currently got my eye on the red shade – Red Carpet – as it will be absolutely perfect for Christmas time.

I’d love to know what your favourite metallic lip products are!

Love, always.

  1. I with ya on this one! A metallic lip is not something I usually reach for, however when I do, I loooove the result. Even if I’m just going to the grocery store 😂 I’m love Huda Beauty’s in Angelic. It’s very similar to Nars Orgasm 🙌🏻

    Great post!
