Being Vegan Isn’t A Diet

Many people will either agree or disagree with the statement ‘being vegan isn’t a diet’. As someone who has a nutrition qualification *claps for me*, to me a diet is simply what you eat everyday. The phrase ‘I’m going on a diet’ is one that doesn’t sit well with me. Everyone has a ‘diet’, but some people choose different ones.

The reason I’m stating that being vegan isn’t a diet is because to me it’s not. Yes, it’s a way of eating food everyday but in theory, it’s a lifestyle choice. It’s a choice that many people make, to eat food that doesn’t involve the harming or abuse of animals. Simple.

Being vegan.

I’ve been full vegan now for around 4 months and honestly, it’s the best lifestyle change I’ve ever made. I never feel guilty about what I’m eating. Knowing that the food you are eating hasn’t caused pain to anyone is great and as someone who loves animals, practicing what I preach is important.

Why make this lifestyle choice?

At the end of the day it’s only you who’s got the choice to make and I’m never going to sit here and tell anyone what they should and shouldn’t do. My blog is my space to tell people what I think and what I do. It’s not for me to tell people what to do.

If you ever feel a bit guilty about eating meat, drinking milk or cracking open an egg – maybe have a little look into either my posts about veganism or just do some research yourself. Maybe you’ll find something out that helps to either put your mind at ease or change it.

There’s something out there for everybody.

And if you want any support on going vegan, I’m here for you. The best way to get in touch is on my Instagram, my handle is @thebeccabynature. On there you’ll find loads of food inspiration, meals and also illustrations to help you on your way – so be sure to check it out.
