Autumn’s coming around faster than the leaves can actually fall off the trees and every beauty lover knows that this means.. dark lips.

I was recently kindly gifted the Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipsticks, see this post >>All 12 Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipsticks<< and it’s taking me forever to try them all out.

However, if you read that post, you’ll know that I’ve completely fallen in love with the formula of the lipstick. Not only is it comfortable to wear, easy to apply and a gorgeous matte finish without leaving the lips feeling dried out, it’s also extremely long wearing.

As soon as I saw the colour Brunette (£8.99, Superdrug), I knew it was going to be the perfect autumn shade. It’s a gorgeous red toned brown – just like many of the leaves that will be falling from the trees.

It’s definitely one of those lipsticks that you can whack on when you can’t really be bothered and your look will be complete.

Much like the other lipsticks I’ve tried out regularly from this range, it’s super pigmented and providing that you get the shape right on your first application, there’s really no need for second coat. The shape of the bullet in these lipsticks really helps you to define the lips to the shape you wish.

I’ve mainly been wearing the nudey-pinky shades in this range and the longevity of them is insane. This isn’t to say that this one isn’t great, it’s still blimin’ amazing, but I do find that after hours of eating and drinking, it does start to come off – leaving that faded lipstick look.

In terms of bleeding, it does bleed a little bit after time. Nothing that’s unfixable, it’s just from where the products started to come off and transfer a little.

Overall, I’m loving this lipstick and it’s great with both a simple look or going full glam and wearing it with a warm toned super smokey eye.

In regards to autumn, I definitely think that the brunettes do have more fun.
