Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette Dupe for Just £4!

I love all makeup from the cheapest of cheap to the outrageously expensive, but if there’s ever dupe for an expensive makeup product I really want, you can guarantee I’ll go for the cheaper option over the lusted item every single time.

Personally, I think especially when it comes to eyeshadow, providing the tones are right and you have some amazing brushes – the product will work for you whether it cost £50 or £5. I mean, in this case the whole palette is just £4 and I’m talking about no other than the Makeup Revolution Re-Loaded Palette Iconic Division (£4, Superdrug).

With gorgeous tones of khaki, peach, warm yellows, deep greens and purple it screams out Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture palette which also boasts shades of the same nature for a grand price of £33 (Beauty Bay).

You can see the insane similarities within these images and aren’t they the spits.

Within the Makeup Revolution palette – the one we’ll be reviewing today – are 15 shades. 12 of them are matte and the other three are crazy metallic shimmer shimmer shades that I’d pay £4 for alone!

These shadows, especially the shimmer shades are highly pigmented and easily blendable. There’s a great range of transition shades, shadows that will create a bold eye and even those to take you into the date night smoky eye.

What I love about this palette is that it’s super wearable but different from your usual browns and greys. I can’t wait to create some looks with this palette and if there’s any shadows you’d particularly like to see – be sure to let me know in the comments below.

So let’s have a breakdown of the swatches here;

First up, a pink duochrome shimmer shade – perfect for using as an inner highlight and amazing for topping matte shadows to shift the shade of them.
A matte peachy shade, great for the crease as a transition.
Matte khaki green. This would be great for a one shadow eye with some eyeliner.
THE MOST STUNNING BRONZE GOLD. I’m sorry but have you seen this swatch? It’s bloody amazing! The most metallic, shimmer bronze I’ve ever seen and it’s so buttery.
A warm toned matte grey, again great for transitioning.

A matte forest green. If you want to create an alternative smoky eye, this is perfect.
Next up is this brick red matte shade, this brings some amazing warmth to the palette and goes amazingly with the next shade..
A matte orange peach – good for a warm crease and pairing with the above for some dimension.
A shimmery metallic chartreuse champagne. It’s not as pigmented and buttery as the bronze but my goodness, it’s still beautiful.
A highly pigmented warm matte brown shade.

First on this row is an orange toned yellow. Although it may not be the first shade anyone would reach for, it’s amazing for bringing warmth to the crease.
A true matte yellow, perfect for adding a bold tone to an eye look.
A matte grey green for a khaki smoky eye.
A deep matte purple. I love pairing green and purple tones together and this paired with the next shade would make a stunning look.
Finally, a super deep, almost black, matte green shade. Great for using as eyeliner with a twist and deepening looks.

I’m so happy that I’ve finally swatched this palette for you as it means I can start creating looks and can imagine I’ll have a hell of a lot of fun being more bold with my eyes. I’ve already played with this palette and one important thing to note is that there is a fair bit of fall out, so I’d definitely recommend doing your eyes first if you’re using the darker colours from the palette.

Do you have any amazing affordable eyeshadow dupes? I’d love to know.

Love, always.

  1. It seems that the subculture dupes are better than the actual subculture itself!! Hush has one as well that I’ve seen reviewed by a few YouTube channels, and they liked it better than the original. That’s a win, for sure! Yours has much bigger pans, it seems than the ABH. Can’t wait to see your looks!

  2. I have tried just 1 revolution palette and I am sorry, the product lack pigmentation, muddy, patchy and just didn’t work on Dark African Skin tone like mine especially even with a primer.

I would rather buy the original palette that works. Although I’ve seen some of their product work and are beautiful.

I am more interested in their new Emily Edit want palette but the shipping is crazy!

    1. Hey Dèsólá!

It’s such a shame that none of the palettes have worked out for you and thanks for sharing this for others, who may also find the palettes don’t work for their skin tone.

I haven’t really looked into the new Emily edit but I’ll be sure to check it out.

      Thanks for stopping by xx
