Mitch’s Kitchen Caribbean Joy

I actually don’t know how to describe this meal. I even spoke to Mitch’s Kitchen themselves to tell them how much I loved it as it wasn’t what I expected, even though I didn’t have any idea what to expect.

Shout out.

Before we get into it, I want to give a big shout out to Mitch’s Kitchen. After seeing my Instagram they got in touch to say they’d love me to draw their meals and of course I grabbed the chance to support them. Especially in these times, which I don’t want to go into, supporting independent businesses is absolutely key.

Caribbean joy.

Today I tried the Caribbean joy;

‘An aromatic island dish inspired by the sea, with flaked hearts of palm, juicy dried tomatoes, peppers, spring onion and fragrant fresh herbs. Served with creamy coconut wholegrain rice and beans with a hint of chilli.’

As I said at the start, I can’t explain much about this meal other than it being absolutely delicious. If you enjoy a creamy but spicy dish, this is definitely for you. It’s full of flavour and not only that it’s vegan, nut free and gluten free.

Handmade for you.

I absolutely love the personal element to these meals. On the packet (which is completely recyclable) whoever’s made your meal will be handwritten. This was was made by Mitch and there’s around 6 months life on them, which is great. If I had the space I’d definitely stock up, they’re perfect for when you can’t be bothered or don’t have the time. It’s nice to know the meal you’re getting is fresh and good for you, even though you can just ding it in the microwave.

Amazing prepared meals.

Anyone that knows me understand I’m not a massive fan of processed meals. The great thing about these meals is that there’s no processed element. They’re made for you with fresh ingredients and go straight into the freezer for when you fancy them! For this meal there’s 15g protein, 9.6g fat and only 415 calories. Of the meals I’ve tried so far, they really fill you up and I can’t wait to try more!
